@TheMichaelMoran @sohohouse No expert but I think the DD mandate gives them the right to take the money. Unless you actively cancel, which they should obviously make easier.

If one were to cancel a direct debit, say for a membership one no longer needed, and the business then used one's bank details to create a new one without asking (& then failed to pick up the phone so they could explain why) would that constitute a fraud? Asking for @sohohouse
