You had to manage the feelings of others. Having to always be aware of the mood and feelings of a family member tends to leave you ignoring your own emotions to not upset theirs. (6/7)

You were not allowed to share your feelings. Sometimes we are told that we can't share our true emotion. We can show hurt but not anger, or we can show our anger but not cry. Being told to 'toughen up' or 'calm down' teaches us to repress our feelings rather than feel them. (5/7)
