5 rules for making anything worth making None of them start with adding more. 😉 @RickRubin spent four decades stripping songs down to what mattered; turns out the same rules apply to lesson plans, keynotes, and classroom projects. 1. Cut to 40%, not 70%. Force the brutal edit first; what survives earns its way back in. 2. One player beats a wall of ten. Stack take after take, and each one gets less important. The single, human version carries more weight. 3. Let one constraint make the decision for you. One instrument. One mood. One hour. Pick the rule and every other choice gets easier. 4. Judge old work like a diary, not a verdict. What you made a year ago was right for that day; it doesn't need a re-grade today. 5. Build it for the version of you who'd actually use it. Make the thing you want to exist, not the thing built to impress. Real resonates. How are you enhancing your creativity today? 👇 #TheTechProfe #Creativity #EdTech #RickRubin #TeacherLife #CreativeAI

Your students aren't just scrolling. They're studying. New research from Google and Kantar just handed us the receipts. 📚 63% choose video over text or audio when they want to learn something new
🌱 87% say video is where they learn and grow
🎨 73% of Gen Z pick indie creators over studio-produced shows
🤝 79% say creators build communities that make them feel like they belong
🔁 80% keep coming back to the same creators again and again Read that last stat twice. "Kids can't focus" doesn't hold up when the content actually matches what they want. Here's the reframe. If students already trust creators this much, they can trust us the same way. If community keeps them coming back, our classrooms can be that community. If AI is generating more of what they see every day, our human, creative voice is the thing that can't be replaced. That's Empowered Designed Learning. Give kids real creative tools. Let them build, not just consume. Nosotros diseñamos las condiciones. Los estudiantes hacen el resto. 💜 💾 Save this for your next staff meeting
🔁 Send it to a teacher who still thinks kids have no attention span

AI adoption isn't a tech problem. It's a trust problem. Organizations succeed when they empower people to experiment, not control every step. Trust over control. 🚀 Who's tried the new comic strip feature in Adobe Express?

I sat through three graduation ceremonies this month. Caps and gowns. Proud families. That specific kind of happy noise that only exists at commencement. And the whole time, I kept thinking about a TNTP research report called the Opportunity Myth (tntp.org/publication/th…). Published in 2018. Still true today. Researchers followed 4,000 students across multiple districts and found something uncomfortable. Students were earning A's and B's but were not being given work that was challenging enough to actually prepare them for the future. More than 500 hours per year were spent on assignments that were not grade-appropriate.Not because students could not handle more. Because the adults around them, with the best intentions, had quietly lowered the bar. Especially for students of color, English learners, and kids from low-income families. They showed up. They did the work. They followed every rule. And they graduated underprepared anyway. That is the myth: you could do everything right and still not get what you were promised. Here is what 30 years in education has taught me. That is a design problem. And design problems have design solutions. Creativity and AI are not magic. But they give educators something the Opportunity Myth said was missing: the tools to design rigorous, engaging, high-expectation learning for every student. Not just the ones lucky enough to land in the right classroom. When AI scaffolds access without lowering expectations... When creative tools demand genuine thinking instead of just task completion... When a student who has been written off produces something stunning... The room shifts. The teacher sees the student differently. The student sees themselves differently. We design the conditions. The students do the rest. I put together a short animation on this. Watch it and tell me: what does this look like in your district? If this connects with work you are doing, I would love to talk. I am booking keynotes and district training for fall now at TheTechProfe.com. #EmpoweredDesignedLearning #OpportunityMyth #AIinEducation #EquityInEducation #K12Leadership #EdTech #TheTechProfe

🍽️ If your kid won't even sit at the table when there's new food on it, this is for you. 🫵🏽 I'm a dad. My son is autistic. For a long time, dinner felt like a battle nobody was winning. 💥 Then we found this. 👇 The 6 Steps to Eating. A sensory-friendly framework (the SOS Approach by Dr. Kay Toomey) that changed our whole routine.🤗 1️⃣ Tolerating. Being in the same room as the food. 2️⃣ Interacting. Helping prep, stir, pour. 3️⃣ Smelling. Leaning in close. 4️⃣ Touching. Fingertips, then lips, then tongue tip. 5️⃣ Tasting. Lick. Bite. Spit. Chew. Repeat. 6️⃣ Eating. The whole thing. You don't skip steps. You don't rush. You meet your kid where they are.🪜 The first time he chewed and swallowed something new on his own, I cried in the kitchen. Then I made him another one and pretended I was fine. 😅 This is Empowered Designed Learning at the dinner table. Every step intentional. Nothing accidental. 🤗 Save this for the next time you put something new on the plate. 💛 🎬 This video was made with @Google Flow + Omni for the scenes, @Adobe Firefly for the visuals, and Adobe Express to bring it all together. Real workflow. Real dad. Real tools you can try too. What's the food your kiddo finally tried? Drop it below. 👇 #AutismParenting #PickyEater #SOSApproach #SpecialNeedsParenting #TheTechProfe #EmpoweredDesignedLearning #AdobeExpress #AdobeFirefly #GoogleFlow #AIforParents #SensoryFriendly #AutismDad #PadreLatino

Creativity AI can only remix what already exists. Humans reimagined what is possible. Creativity is seeing the possibilities that others can’t. Optimism Is a Skill, Not a Personality Type What is your BPS Best Possible Self ✅ Be curious.  ✅ Be creative.  ✅ Be brave.  ✅ Be yourself. ✅ Add something to this world that nobody else could add. ✨ We say this to our students every year. Then we walk into our own classrooms and play it safe. Here is the truth I keep coming back to after 30+ years in education: ☑️ The lesson is the only one you could design. 👩🏽‍🎨 ☑️ The story only you could tell. 📓 ☑️ The energy only you could bring on a Monday morning. ⚡️ That is the thing your students actually need 🙌🏽 Not another copy of someone else's slide deck. 💻 Not another worksheet pulled from a search. 🔍 You. 🫵🏽 Your curiosity. 🧐 Your culture. 🧫 Your creative fingerprint. 🫆 Sé curioso. Sé creativo. Sé valiente. Sé tú. 🙌🏽 This week, bring one thing into your classroom that only you could bring. A song, a story, a question, a tool, a memory. Watch what happens. 👀 That is Empowered Designed Learning. And it starts with you. 💡 What is the one thing only you could bring this week? Drop it below. 👇🏽 #EmpoweredDesignedLearning #TheTechProfe #Teachers #EdTech #BilingualEd

Most math accommodations happen AFTER a kid has already struggled. AI lets us build the support in from the start. 🧠✨ Ranjani Iyer wrote a beautiful piece in Edutopia on 5 strategies for neurodivergent math learners. Here is how creative tech makes each one easier 👇 1️⃣ Small wins → student-designed "win journals" in Adobe Express 2️⃣ Guided notes → AI generates the same notes at 3 scaffolding levels in 5 minutes 3️⃣ Experiential learning → Firefly turns word problems into visual scenarios 4️⃣ Predictable systems → AI builds your lesson template once, reuse all year 5️⃣ Questions + reflection → voice-to-text journals so writing is not the barrier Mi propio hijo aprende diferente a como yo aprendí. 💛 That is part of why this one hits home. Neurodivergent learners do not need more pressure. They need more access. Eso es Empowered Designed Learning. We design the conditions. They do the rest. ✨ 📎 Full Edutopia article by Ranjani Iyer is linked in the comments. 📌 Save this for your next planning block. 💬 Which one are you trying first? #TheTechProfe #EmpoweredDesignedLearning #Neurodiversity #MathTeacher #EdTech #AIinEducation #Adobe #TeachersOfInstagram #BilingualEducator #CreativityForAll

@Google quietly shared something at I/O that matters more than the flashy demos: @GeminiApp Guided Learning improved math outcomes for students in Sierra Leone, and Gemini for Education helped teachers in Italy personalize materials while cutting admin time. That's the real story. Not the agents, not the glasses, not the AI video tools. The proof point is that AI in a classroom can actually move student outcomes and give teachers their time back. Here's where creativity gets interesting. When AI handles the admin drag, teachers get room to design learning experiences again. Students get more time on the messy, creative work that builds real thinking. The tools coming next, Gemini Omni for video, Google Pics, and Stitch for visual design, only matter if educators have the space to use them well. If you're a teacher or a leader watching this space, pick one task that drains your week. Lesson differentiation, parent communication, and feedback on student work. Try Gemini for Education on that one thing for two weeks. Track what you got back. That's your evidence for your site or district. What's the one task you'd hand off first to make room for the creative work? #AIinEducation #EdTech #TeacherLife #GoogleForEducation #CreativityInEducation #CreativeLearning #DesignThinking #EmpoweredDesignedLearning

Every child has a story to tell, but not every child tells it with words. I spent time today volunteering in my son’s class, and it reminded me that storytelling can take so many different shapes. Sometimes it is verbal. Sometimes it is painting, Play-Doh, performing, music, animation, or creating visuals with AI on a device. That matters to me, not only as a parent, but also as an educator. When we only give students one way to show what they know, we may miss the genius sitting right in front of us. A simple move for tomorrow: take one assignment and offer three ways students can tell the story. Say it. Build it. Draw it. Perform it. Animate it. Let the goal stay the same while the pathway changes. What is one modality you have seen bring out a student’s genius?
