Thrilled to attend the FIFA World Cup 2026 Canada Host City Route and Partner Unveiling, held at Illuminarium Toronto. A major highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the country-wide route and the partners who will help bring the @FIFAWorldCup 2026 experience to life.

We had an engaging evening focused on ideas for building a stronger Toronto. It was also great to see former Premier of Ontario Bob Rae and his wife, Arlene Perly Rae. Looking forward to continuing these important conversations as we work together to build a stronger Toronto.

Last night, I was pleased to attend the book launch and conversation for Saving Toronto: 10 City Builders Tell Us How, edited by Anne Golden and Ken Greenberg, at Toronto City Hall.

The extension of the Building Safer Communities Fund, supported by an investment of up to $157.5 million, will help continue gun and gang violence prevention initiatives through municipal allocations.

Today, I joined the Minister @gary_srp, MP @rubysahotalib, @MayorOliviaChow and council colleagues for an important announcement on efforts to keep Canadian communities safe.

Great to see Aina-Nia Ayo'dele of Blackhurst’s Board of Directors, Denise Andrea Campbell, Deputy City Manager, Community Development and Social Services for the City of Toronto, and so many other leaders, supporters, and changemakers gathered for the occasion.

It was inspiring to witness this special moment as coins, currencies, and capsules were deposited into the site. It was a moving act of memory, legacy, and vision that speaks to the stories, resilience, and contributions of Black communities in Toronto.

Today, I had the honour of attending Anthropology in the Making at 756 Bathurst Street, hosted by Dr. Itah Sadu, Managing Director of Blackhurst Cultural Centre and co-owner of A Different Booklist.
