The Bruce Highway Upgrade Program is a 15-year program focused on improving safety, flood resilience, and capacity along the highway through targeted upgrades such as intersection improvements, raised bridges, flood immunity works and projects that improve traffic flow.

The Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program is delivering proven safety treatments on priority sections of the Bruce Highway north of Gympie, with works planned through to 2030 to improve safety, reduce crash risk and support more reliable journeys.

Investigations will explore potential upgrades aimed at improving road access and safety during major weather events, particularly for areas north of Lockyer Creek.

Planning is underway identify options to improve flood resilience along Gatton–Esk Road in the Lockyer Valley.
