Greatly amused by the split here between streams using Route R and streams on regular Northstar

@Ls1389 @IDWPublishing Exactly! Like the translation itself and presentation look great, and to fumble that at the final hurdle… frustrating from the tech-side, and insulting to the artists they work with (even beyond Imada-san)
English

The app page blatantly just stem from asking an AI to ‘write a Sonic comic review/description’ given how they randomly mention other Sonic comic personnel and hallucinate a totally different story. The blogs don’t actually exist, either.
Extremely poor stuff from @IDWPublishing

@ThePilgrimScoop @DerekPascarella Sorry for the delayed response, but it's on my site: astromuseum.org/gamecenter/DCS…
You'd have to add the music yourself when building the image file for the Menu, using the SD Menu Manager, but it's literally just drag and drop the audio file and it'll convert it
English

@Tracker_TD @DerekPascarella Woah this is so cool!
You ever plan on releasing this Mega collection menu theme?
English

New version of @DerekPascarella's Dreamcast openMenu tools is great - menu music is a much-appreciated edition, to sell the Sonic Mega Collection vibes of my personal menu theme

@WorksOfMagic_ @Vhopps3 Yeah see, with Triple Trouble I was glad they added the 16:9 but could see why 4:3 might’ve worked, since it was actually designed akin to the other classic games - XG adding a boost function immediately flies in the face of 4:3, in the same way Advance 2 did
English

@Tracker_TD @Vhopps3 There's a reason Noah also took the bait of adding a 16:9 toggle to TT-16 Bit. Sure, the game has level design that works well enough at 4:3 (its good level design was made to work with that first and foremost), but he could only get universal praise from adding such a toggle.
English

Sonic XG is 4:3 because we designed the game to be 4:3. Accommodating the game to be in multiple aspect ratios requires way more work then you think. I'm sorry you don't like that choice but i would love to know how that compromises playability!
Tracker@Tracker_TD
I wonder if Sonic XG being 4:3 is a technical issue or an attempt at being nostalgic… I hope it’s not the latter, bc a) that would be a stupid reason to compromise playability and b) the Saturn could *do* widescreen; in fact, ST’s NiGHTS is one of the most noteworthy examples!
English

@Vhopps3 At any rate, it's your game, you can do what you want - I just think limiting the player's view because it's what old monitors did is a baffling choice that doesn't add anything and only detracts. There's a reason there's near universal praise for the Retro Engine's 16:9 upgrade.
English

@Vhopps3 I think you could make the argument that it's designed around 4:3 if it was designed akin to the original 4:3 Sonic games, but the focus on speed with aspects like the boost state would be far more fitting in a widescreen title - Advance 2 was criticised by the same logic.

GUITAR TRACKING IN VRCHAT
This is possible with @EOZ_VR's Immersive Glove prototypes, Tundra Tracker on the guitar and @Hackebein's Object Tracker project which he recently updated!
This is my guitar solo in the Radiant Revival Remix, ENJOY
English

@PaperSonicIdol It has extended camera anyway, which is just a worse version of the same thing.
English

@Tracker_TD What's the matter Mania boy, afraid you might have to react to something?
English

@MoneyAlt800 @incubusyaoislop I’ve never liked extended camera - feels herky jerk, and in 2026 it just achieves what widescreen does in a worse way. There’s no aesthetic benefit to 4:3 over than perhaps as a nostalgia thing, and I still think that’s misplaced
English

@incubusyaoislop @Tracker_TD I've not played XG but are you talking about the camera moving forward when Sonic goes fast? Thar helps, but it's kinda a bandaid solution
English

@Tracker_TD It’s because when it came out, everyone was still rocking 4:3 CRTs.
English

@bisexualgenesis Given the focus on sheer speed with boost mode (and some of the level design I’ve seen in footage…), I’m not convinced XG really was designed with 4:3 in mind - and either way, if nostalgia is the reason it’s still a rather shoddy one.
English

@bisexualgenesis Widescreen monitors certainly weren’t common, but they did exist - and moreso, some games still had support for arbitrary ratios, bc even if not widescreen, other ratios like 5:4 did exist
English

@bisexualgenesis I’d argue semantics there - several of SEGA’s early PC titles were just Saturn or Mega Drive ports - but also it doesn’t really change my point either, there were early PC games that were capable of non 4:3 ratios too
English

@Tracker_TD its not supposed to be a saturn game, its supposed to feel like an early pc game.
