We strongly condemn the ongoing drone attacks against the Kurdistan Region over the last several days. Although we have not been part of the conflict, we continue to come under attack. Despite the ceasefire and ongoing peace talks, these attacks have killed at least five people and injured many more, in an effort to undermine the ceasefire and further harm our region. We reiterate our call on the federal government to take practical measures to end these attacks, and we urge our international partners to provide the equipment necessary to protect Kurdistan from these ongoing threats, including our civilian and energy infrastructure.

I had a productive meeting with @USAMBTurkiye Tom Barrack on the margins of #ADF2026 in Antalya. We discussed the state of relations between the United States, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, and exchanged views on the latest regional developments.

I spoke with @SecretaryBurgum about Kurdistan Region’s energy outlook and the role of US companies in the industry. There is great potential for collaboration. I reiterated the need for more protection from attacks and welcomed the opportunity to discuss our economic partnership.

President Nechirvan Barzani met with Major General Kevin Lambert, Commander of @CJTFOIR, to discuss security developments, stressing coordination between the Peshmerga, Iraqi Army, and coalition forces to ensure stability, while addressing the fight against ISIS and its impact.

I welcome the ceasefire agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. This development represents an important step toward de-escalation, the protection of civilians, and the restoration of constructive dialogue. We appreciate the efforts of all sides that contributed to facilitating this ceasefire. I hope all parties will uphold this commitment in good faith and work toward a lasting peace that promotes stability, security, and prosperity throughout the entire region.
