@therealrobbiep @hemeon But is the podcast disclosing that the guest paid to be on? Because that kind of sounds like a sponsored hour of talk that should be disclosed to the audience.

I’m not sure I agree with some of the replies here. Does it feel kind of lame? Maybe not as authentic? Sure. But does this particular podcast have enough listeners in the right niche that could give you a solid ROI? If so, then how is this any different than buying any other type of media? I definitely wouldn’t feel privileged or honored to be invited on a podcast I had to pay for, but if it was ROI positive, what’s the problem? They add content, I get exposure. What am I missing here?

I got invited to be on a huge podcast - then they asked me for $6,000 for an appearance fee - is that normal? I said no.
