California is exploring a new specialty license plate inspired by Disneyland, with proceeds supporting children’s hospitals across the Golden State. If at least 7,500 interest form submissions are received, the plate will move forward into production. Please note the graphic below is for illustrative purposes only and does not represent the final design. An official design will be developed once the interest threshold has been met.

Today, I was honored to join police officers from #AD70 at the State Capitol for the Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony, where we paid tribute to the 12 fallen officers who gave their lives in service to our state last year. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

By nearly every measure, California has become unaffordable for working families. Electricity rates and the cost of a typical home are roughly double the national average, and gas prices sit about $1.67 higher per gallon, driven by state taxes and regulations. Families are feeling the strain every day. Real solutions have been put forward in Sacramento, but too often they are dismissed instead of debated. It is time for Sacramento to take affordability seriously and deliver meaningful relief for Californians.

Today on the Assembly Floor, I presented ACR 119 to officially recognize April 30 as Black April and the Fall of Saigon in California. This resolution honors the sacrifices of those who fought for freedom and recognizes the resilience of the Vietnamese American community. Thank you to my colleagues on both sides of the aisle who joined as coauthors in support of this important recognition.

Today on Black April, we honor the more than 58,000 American servicemembers who never made it home, along with the over 250,000 South Vietnamese who stood shoulder to shoulder in defense of freedom. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Today we solemnly remember the anniversary of the Fall of Saigon, also known as Black April, when countless Vietnamese fled their homeland in search of freedom and the hope of a better life. We honor the resilience of those who rebuilt their lives in new lands, and we remain deeply grateful to the American servicemembers who made the ultimate sacrifice, standing alongside the South Vietnamese in defense of liberty.

Last week, I had the honor of welcoming distinguished guests to the Assembly, including Deputy Director General John Chu of Taiwan with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco, Deputy Consul General Takeshi Ishihara of the Japanese Consulate in San Francisco, and Keijiro Hora, Executive Director of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Northern California. California’s global partnerships are strengthened through relationships like these, and I appreciated the opportunity to recognize their important work and ongoing collaboration.

Another assassination attempt on President Trump is a sobering reminder that political violence has no place in our country. We must resolve our differences through dialogue, not violence.

Thank you to the Regional Center of Orange County for an incredible tour of the programs making a real difference in our community. From early childhood intervention to adult day services and job placement opportunities at Edwards Lifesciences, it was powerful to see how these services help individuals with developmental disabilities build independence and opportunity. Today, on Armenian Genocide Day of Remembrance, we mark 111 years since the Armenian Genocide began. We honor the lives lost and stand with the Armenian community in remembrance, ensuring that the truth is never forgotten.
