Thanks to the @NuclearTexas for the invitation to join their SXSW Summit last week. Great conversation with Stephan Fabel from NVIDIA about Texas Tech’s new GB300 partnership and what it means for the future of Ai and higher education. Texas Tech intends to remain at the tip of the spear in Ai. Especially as higher education rapidly evolves to attract future students and faculty who plan to choose/deliver the most up to date instruction using the fastest compute offered within the global technology marketplace.

In February, Texas Tech University System Chancellor Brandon Creighton, Texas Tech University President Lawrence Schovanec, Board of Regents Chairman Cody Campbell and Vice Chairman Dustin Womble met with @nvidia leadership to advance a groundbreaking partnership that will bring next-generation accelerated computing infrastructure to Texas Tech. The collaboration positions Texas Tech at the forefront of artificial intelligence and advanced research through deployment of the NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra (B300) platform—one of the most advanced supercomputing architectures in the world and the only university-owned system in the nation designed specifically for Agentic AI. For the first time, the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Dallas campus hosted the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents meeting. The campus, located in the Dallas medical district, houses the School of Nursing and the Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy and provides students with clinical training needed to help meet the growing demand for health care professionals across the Metroplex. The campus generates an estimated $38 million in annual local economic impact, and its accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is ranked No. 1 in Texas, with 79% of graduates accepting nursing positions in the Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas regions.

The Texas Tech University System Board of Regents met last week, Feb. 26, at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Dallas campus. The meeting marked Chancellor Brandon Creighton’s first Board of Regents meeting as Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System.

Congratulations to the eight outstanding Texas Tech University faculty members who received the 2026 Chancellor’s Council Distinguished Teaching and Research Awards. Chancellor Brandon Creighton and Texas Tech President Lawrence Schovanec recognized the individuals during an awards ceremony on Feb. 19, at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center. Tech University Health Sciences Center is one step closer to the Big Cure! The university has received accreditation approval to launch the John Wayne Cancer Foundation Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program. Following a comprehensive search, the Texas Tech University System has appointed Teresa Jack, CPA, as chief audit executive for the Office of Audit Services, effective March 1, 2026. A proud Texas Tech alumna, Teresa brings more than 26 years of auditing experience, including 24 years of service to the TTU System. She has served as acting chief audit executive at the TTU System since April 2025. We are confident she will continue to provide strong leadership in support of the system’s mission.
