ℹ️//TODAY//FIXTURE//NL2 @ParkViewAFC v @CABoldon Comp: Northern League Division Two Venue: Riverside, DH3 3SH Kick Off: 7:30pm 📈CURRENT FORM// Park View 5th | LWDLDW - Returned to winning ways at the weekend as a Brandon Young goal midway through the second half secured a 1-0 win away at Billingham Synthonia. James Hughes with back to back shutouts as he collected their 18th league clean sheet of the season - the most in Division Two. At home they have won 10/17 league games, with two draws and five defeats completing their NL2 record to date at the Riverside. They have lost two of their last three league outings on home soil. Won 1-0 in September’s reverse fixture. Dylan Wilkinson’s 89th minute winners clinched all three points at the Villa. Should they complete the league double with a win tonight they could move level on points with Jarrow in 3rd place - depending on how their fare against FC Hartlepool tonight. Boldon CA 18th | LLLLWL - Have lost six in a row in league action after a 4-0 home defeat by Billingham Town at the weekend. That was a 10th league game in which they have failed to score, from their 34 games played so far. They have won 3/16 league games played on their travels, with five draws and 8 losses rounding out their NL2 away record to date. A late goal for the visitors consigned them to a 1-0 defeat back in September’s reverse fixture. If they avenge that loss with a victory this evening the three points would see them climb above Grangetown Boys Club to 17th place. ⏪LAST TIME// Boldon took the spoils but they left it late in the corresponding NL2 fixture last season at Ford Hub. Liam Heywood’s 90+3 minute strike snatched all three points for the visitors as it ended 1-0. 🔮OUR PREDICTION// Park View’s defensive strength and home record give them a clear platform to control the tempo tonight. Boldon’s six‑game losing streak and ongoing struggles in front of goal make this a difficult assignment on the road. The hosts’ ability to grind out tight matches should again prove decisive in a fixture that’s often cagey. A surprise draw isn’t out of the question but the numbers point to… Park View 1-0 Boldon. DIVISION TWO//WEDNESDAY NIGHT REVIEW FIXTURE// @ParkViewAFC v @CABoldon 📊RESULT//Park View 0-0 Boldon CA The hosts started on the front foot as Charlie Loveday rounded off a counter but his effort flew over the Boldon bar. The game evened out with both sides probing, Stephen Siyanbola was next to take aim for the hosts but the big striker was learning back as his shot went high. Boldon’s first effort in anger came just after the half hour, Joe Kerridge with a whipped strike that cleared the bar. Jack Devlin was next to have a pop but his shot rose too high after a Kerridge centre. Goalless at the break. The hosts probably should have made the breakthrough just before the hour mark, but Jacob Mallinson put a drilled effort narrowly wide when well placed. Kerridge continued to the most likely for the visitors, he saw a crisp, low drive drift just wide as the game approached the last twenty. Devlin tested home stopper Hughes shortly after but the keeper safely gathered the shot. Sub Ollie Reade almost won it but he comfortably cleared the Park View crossbar by some distance with headlines being written. The hosts last chance to nick it came via the head of Jamie Frizzell but Charlton gleefully collected the effort. And although previous encounters had a history of late winners it ended goalless. Park View’s playoff hopes took a slight knock as they were held to just a third home league draw of the season - but they did claim a point after two home league losses at the Riverside. They posted a 14th league blank in front of goal while James Hughes collected league clean sheet No.19 of the campaign. They held on to the final playoff spot - 5th place. Boldon ended a six league game losing streak as they recorded a 6th away league draw of the season. An 11th league game in which they have failed to score but Lewis Charlton kept just their 6th league clean sheet to earn a point - which saw them climb above Grangetown Boys Club into 17th place - four points clear of the bottom three. 🔮REMINDER : OUR PREDICTION// Park View 1-0 Boldon. PREDICTION RATING// B+ We knew this one would be a close encounter despite the disparity in the table. Our prediction ended a goal away from perfection but we did say a surprise draw wouldn’t be out of the question. A better point for the visitors. Likes, reposts & comments appreciated.
