As Montenegro advances towards EU membership, investments on children are key for its future. Excellent discussion with Prime Minister @MickeySpajic on accelerating reforms for children through the #EUChildGuarantee, including expanded resources for combating violence, enhancing mental health, and reforming education through digital skills, entrepreneurship and innovation for young people. Welcomed Montenegro’s progress in reducing child poverty, including through the universal child allowance, while emphasizing that sustained investments in children are essential for the country’s future. OECD estimates show that lack of investment in children can lead to annual GDP losses of up to 3.4%. We agreed to work closely together #ForEveryChild in Montenegro. In particular, @UNICEFmne remains committed to supporting reforms that help protect children from violence — offline and online, accelerate child poverty reduction and ensure that all children have opportunities to develop the skills needed to move from learning to earning. #ForEveryChild #EUChildGuarantee

As Montenegro advances towards EU membership, the  #EUChildGuarantee can help strengthen protection and support for the most vulnerable children. Excellent exchange with @DamirGutic @MSSDCrneGore on accelerating child and social protection reforms, including the establishment of the Barnahus centre and national Foster Care Centre, for which @UNICEFmne has already secured international and private sector support. Protecting children from violence and helping them grow up in safe family environments is essential for every society. #ForEveryChild #EndViolence #EveryChildNeedsAFamily

Digital spaces are shaping children’s lives - for better and for worse. At today’s high-level exchange in Ankara, we came together with governments, partners and young people to push forward a shared goal: safer digital environments for every child. This means listening to children and young people, enhancing digital literacy and critical thinking, strengthening systems around them, and ensuring safety by design. Children must be protected online and offline.
