On behalf of our entire agency, we extend our deepest condolences to the men and women of the Arizona Department of Public Safety, and to the families, friends, and loved ones of the Pilot and Paramedic Trooper who lost their lives in the line of duty on the evening of February 4, 2026.
Our thoughts remain with their families and colleagues mourning this tragic loss. Losing two public servants in the act of protecting others is a tragedy that resonates well beyond agency boundaries. We grieve with you, we honor their sacrifice, and we stand shoulder to shoulder with AZDPS during this difficult time.
We recognize the extraordinary courage and selflessness demonstrated by the AZDPS Ranger helicopter crew as they responded to assist the Flagstaff Police Department during an active shooter incident. Their courage to place themselves in harm’s way in service to their community embodies the very best of the law enforcement profession.
With deepest respect and solidarity,
US Border Patrol
