Artist Jeffrey Gibson’s work is visually captivating and sparks important conversations about our responsibility to the planet and its living beings. "The Animal That Therefore I Am," features four unique sculptures that invite viewers to reflect on the deep interconnectedness between all life and the environment. This momentous body of work explores the relationship between humans and nature, embodying the essence of Gibson's artistic philosophy. Through his intricate designs and thoughtful composition, Gibson encourages a dialogue on how we coexist with our natural surroundings. 🗓️ Create your own beadwork design this Saturday, April 11 and hear about the inspiration and creative process behind the large-scale sculptures created for The Met’s facade with artist Jeffrey Gibson. Now Open → "Carol Bove" Carol Bove’s first museum survey fills the entire rotunda. Spanning 25 years, the exhibition traces key shifts in her practice, from early drawings and found-object assemblages to a new series of monumental steel “collage sculptures.” Reimagining the experience of the iconic spiral ramps, "Carol Bove" creates new moments for rest, reflection, and interaction—inviting us to see space, material, and form anew. Organized by Katherine Brinson, Daskalopoulos Senior Curator of Contemporary Art and Director of Global Initiatives, with support from Charlotte Youkilis, Curatorial Assistant, Exhibitions, and Bellara Huang, former Curatorial Assistant, Exhibitions. Major support for "Carol Bove" is provided by The Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Foundation, Barbara and Andrew Gundlach, Nancy and Steve Crown, Gagosian, and Sarah Simmons.

Our 2025 Poet-in-Residence, Traci Brimhall, joined us last month for Late Shift, inviting visitors to write poems for her to read aloud—set to live jazz. We caught up with Traci as she reflected on her residency year, how working with the Guggenheim shaped her creative process, and what engaging with visitors revealed about poetry’s place in the museum. We’re thankful for Traci for bringing her poetic vision to the museum this past year. Learn more about the Poet-in-Residence on our website. The Guggenheim Poet-in-Residence is made possible by @vancleefarpels.
