Well done to Mabel, who was yesterday’s @AG_LLP Player of the Match. 👏🏼 Mabel wore the captains arm band in the @FAWNL game v Abingdon, and was a true leader, was strong and disciplined and helped the team towards another valuable three points. Bridgwater United Women FC can confirm that Ellie-Mae Bell, has been secured for the 2025/26 season. The announcement comes with a notable caveat, with Bell having another year remaining on her current playing contract. This means she will continue to play with her long standing existing club for the upcoming campaign. Bell, aged 21 is recognized as one of the local rising stars in women's football. Her technical ability, strength, prowess in front of goal and her vision on the pitch have made her a sought-after player, but with the highly-rated attacking midfielder secured for another season, this bolsters the squad for the future. Head Coach Steve Perkins said, "Mabel [Ellie-Mae Bell] is a fantastic talent, and we are thrilled she remains with us. "We are so happy she has a commitment with us for the next season, and are excited to see her continue to develop. Having Mabel in the squad demonstrates our commitment to building a strong and sustainable team for the long term." Bell herself expressed her enthusiasm saying, "I am proud to commit to another season with Bridgwater United, with a great team of players and staff. "It is exciting times for us, with a new club strategy which I am so grateful to be a part of." Bell added, "The club really does put the person first and I feel so well looked after and supported, which is something I have particularly really appreciated this last season. Ellie-Mae Bell was sponsored by Ian and Vanessa Brock in the 2024/25 season and we appreciate their support. Despite a Mabel first half equaliser, we somehow came back from Keynsham without a point, in what turned out to be a frustrating afternoon! 📸 Photo by Jess Fawcett Mabel is kindly sponsored by Ian and Vanessa Brock. #BUWFC
