@LuMorganC The railway was eventually abandoned because the council extended the groynes and it was impossible to divert the railway into deeper water. But they did then give Magnus permission to extend the electric railway to Black Rock.

I’m also now a bit obsessed with the @VolksVera extension to Rottingdean which looked like this. Because a pesky cliff is no barrier for Victorian engineering. A railway in the sea on stilts? Sorted.
