@WarrOnWords Of course it is important, but I don't think your proposal achieved that. It would have just kept the building empty and rotting away for longer. The States own far too much derelict property and they need to slim down.

Deputy David Warr is proposing that the States ask the Minister for Infrastructure to defer the approval of the land transaction agreement for the sale of the former Social Security building, Philip Le Feuvre House and Huguenot House, so that a feasibility report and cost benefit analysis on alternative uses of the site, can be completed. @LeMaistre1965 Shame you don’t think that trying to improve the environment for the residents of St Helier isn’t important. Re Havre des Pas, shame Government doesn’t listen to the public.

@StatesAssembly Deputy Warr can't seem to resist bringing his car crash approach to almost every States property transaction. Having miserably failed at Havre des Pas, here he is again.

Banksy's new work shows two children lying on their backs and looking toward the heavens, with one pointing a finger skyward. As Christmas approaches, the work could be read as two children hopefully looking for signs of Santa Claus in the sky, which would be an uncommonly sweet statement from the often sardonic artist. But its location points to a more critical dimension. Read more: artnews.com/art-news/news/…

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has today questioned three Chief Officers as part of its review into Arm’s Length Bodies (ALBs), Grants and Subsidies. The Panel learnt: 1. The principles of the Public Finances Manual (PFM) are not being applied or implemented consistently, with varying approaches being undertaken by different Chief Officers/Accountable Officers. 2. The definition of "value for money" in respect of the work of ALBs is not consistent across government departments. 3. That funding cuts are often implemented without undertaking a wider strategic review into the effectiveness of ALBs, potentially negatively affecting those bodies that are meeting objectives. 4. The Panel was encouraged to learn that the recommendations from the Comptroller & Auditor General (C&AG) report are being addressed and will be implemented; the preparatory work for a review is underway. 5. The Panel was also supportive of any potential move to longer-term - or multi-year - funding for ALBs, as this will allow for long-term strategic planning. @mailolstar @SamMezecJsy @ReformJersey Thanks Ollie, I simply want clarification as to who / what makes up the deficit? I’m all for removing taxes on food I’d just like to hear where that funding stream moves to. It’s rarely about taxing the rich, it’s usually about getting after the ‘squeezed middle’.

I totally appreciate that everyone signing this petition is doing so in good faith. But it won’t work, just like none of the other petitions have worked. There is only one sure way to guarantee GST being removed from food - elect a @ReformJersey-led government.

@ANDYDB7 @Getonthelash2 The Charities commissioner will not allow the register of a charity until there is a clear source of revenue. The ‘charity’ to be was part of the bidding process for looking after the HdesP pool. All paper work in place, next phase to register. Hope that helps

@Getonthelash2 @WarrOnWords But there seems to be a lot of misinformation. Friends of Lido aren t a registered charity. So headlines have been wrong.

Deputy David Warr @WarrOnWords is proposing that the Minister for Treasury and Resources develop a ‘meanwhile use’ for the former Gas Place site until such time that long-term development commences and that the ‘meanwhile use’ is beneficial for the local community and should be informed by engagement with relevant local stakeholders. @ANDYDB7 Tired of all the promises made about long term investments that keep being delayed. The need for our youth is now, this attempts to plug the immediate gap putting people before policy.

@WarrOnWords No not really. Gib will be part of Schengen we are part of the CTA. Gib will have joint GiB and Spanish immigration control. This is a totally different kettle of fish I think.
