🚨 Pakistan Denial Sparks Fresh Questions Over Reported Sharif-Munir Bangladesh Mission! A fresh controversy has erupted after the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka publicly denied reports regarding a proposed visit to Bangladesh by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir. The denial came shortly after explosive claims circulated on ‘X’ on May 15, 2026 by me with initial details about preparations of Islamabad for a high-level political and military outreach toward Dhaka comprising Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir. The controversy erupted after a May 15 post on X by me about the preparations of a high-level political and military mission to Dhaka with strategic and dangerous objectives. My post quickly drew attention across regional and international media circles, including sections of the Pakistani press. According to a report published by BdNews24, officials at the mission stated: “We have no knowledge of any such plans”. The mission, however, acknowledged that ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan have warmed considerably since the political transition in Dhaka following the 2024 upheaval that led to the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government. The statement referred to expanding diplomatic engagement, trade discussions, and renewed political communication between the two countries. The denial itself reflects Islamabad’s unease after the issue gained public attention. The visit is linked to broader discussions involving defense cooperation and geopolitical coordination. In my opinion, Pakistan is seeking to re-establish deeper influence in Bangladesh under the cover of diplomatic normalization. Whether the proposed visit finally materializes or not, the episode has already reignited debate over the future direction of Bangladesh-Pakistan relations and their wider implications for regional security in South Asia.

🚨 Breaking News: Dhaka and Washington set to ink major defense agreement! A major defense agreement namely - General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) and the Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA) - between Bangladesh and the United States will be signed soon which will grant US military access to key Bangladeshi facilities. Meaning, under the agreement, American warships and aircraft shall be able to use Bangladeshi ports and airfields for "maintenance", refuelling and other purposes.
