🙌 Some fabulous costumes out there today for the annual Wellington School sponsored 10-mile walk, with over 1,500 pupils hoping to raise 10s of 1000s of pounds for charity. This year the chosen charity is The @LPTrustUK. Keep going all! @WellyTimp

The annual Welly sponsored walk in aid of @LPTrustUK MP Connor Rand cut the ribbon to send our fancy-dressed sixth formers on their way. Super effort from the entire Wellington community!

Students were amazing once again, listening attentively to our tour guide in the ‘abbaye’.

An evening meal of spag bol followed by a quiz and poetry wrapped up Day 3 of our action-packed whistle-stop tour of Normandy. Day 4 sees us arrive at the majestic Mont St Michel.

As we moved on to the American cemetery at Omaha beach the weather brightened up thankfully. So impressed how well the students responded to the environment, showing enormous respect and an appreciation of history.

What a difference a day makes! Day 2 in France began with thunder, lightning and heavy rain but thankfully it’s eased off for our town trail in Bayeux! Apparently we’re off to look at carpets shortly 🤷🏼‍♂️!

2nd stop - Arromanches - for an early lunch before heading to the 360 degree cinema and the biscuit factory. An impromptu game of basketball has broken out in the square.

Not a great deal of sleep was had on the overnight ferry from Portsmouth but the Y8s have arrived at their first visit - the British Memorial at Caen - in good spirits!

Preparations nearly complete for our Chinese New Year celebrations this evening. Huge thanks and well done to Mrs Stephens and her team!

Big thanks and well done to our very own Mr Gerschler who was there at the beginning and helped the @FED_Manchester get the project of the ground - he was deservedly name-checked by the speakers and Welly also got a mention from @AndyBurnhamGM. A memorable and humbling night!

Honoured this evening to be at @TheJohnRylands library celebrating the @FED_Manchester ‘My Voice’ project telling the stories of Holocaust survivors. Hearing from 100 yr old Marianne Philips who witnessed Kristallnacht first hand was very special.
