“I brought them because I know the vaccine will protect them”, says Afrida at a hospital in West Dhaka where she has brought her two children for emergency measles vaccinations. A measles outbreak in #Bangladesh has rapidly spread across the country. Highly contagious and potentially fatal, measles poses a serious risk to young children, particularly where immunization gaps persist. Rapid vaccination is critical to stop transmission and protect those most at risk. The Bangladesh Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched an emergency measles–rubella vaccination campaign, targeting children aged 6 months to 5 years, regardless of prior vaccination status. WHO and partners are supporting the campaign to reach 18 million children, including over 180 000 children in Cox’s Bazar. Read more 🔗 bit.ly/4cNRzUl
