There has to be a pay for teenagers with no experience and summer jobs. That is minimum wage. For someone that lives at home and is supported by their parents. It’s a start and you learn the basics. You get a few years experience and you make more money depending on how well you do.

@WillDavisBarnes @FinancialPhys There’s no such thing as unskilled labor. Being able to afford a one bedroom isn’t the space to support a family & entry level jobs should pay enough to afford rent & food, period. Corporations aren’t paying the working class enough to live, that’s the issue.

I don’t know where you’re getting your numbers from. That’s an absolute lie. I had my first job as a teenager in mid 70s at minimum wage. All it provided was spending money to buy things at my parents wouldn’t buy me. That’s what a minimum wage job is supposed to be. If you make minimum wage enough to support a family, then no one will ever be able to afford anything and it will just keep spiraling out of control. Minimum wage jobs are for jobs that are for people with no experience and can be trained for the job in less than two days. Then you get raises the longer that you work there or if you get promoted. Minimum wage is not meant to be an income that you can survive on.
