hey all / Rosé of Pinot Noir / v. 2024 / Sonoma Coast / a pale salmon hue / aromas of orange sorbet and red grapefruit / palate of white rasberries / 12.9% ABV makes it fresh, juicy ride down stream / Cheers!

hey all / palatal adventure here with a blend of equal parts Nerello Mascalese, Perricone, and Syrah / Sicily / some age (2019) showing on the rim / balanced tannin and acid / deep, stew-like red fruits yet lifted by fresh acidity / interesting / used to Nerello Mas. from Mt. Etna / but this is a totally different expression of the grape / Cheers!

Chinese wine tonight! From the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains in Ningxia. It's good value for £16—the first Chinese wine that @TheWineSociety has ever stocked. But I regret the inclusion of Dunkelfelder to the Bordeaux blend, as it does taste a bit 'teinturier'.

When I toured NZ two years ago, the Abel Chardonnay was my go-to in restaurants. This is a new vintage to me & it's just as impressive, with more matchstick & popcorn than the 2020. Blind, you'd have to be in Puligny-Montrachet—but it's from Upper Moutere, #Nelson

Trying the @TheWineSociety 's first Styrian Sauvignon Blanc. Very restrained & elegant, all Alpine herbs & orchard fruits, not unlike Sancerre but with a different, cloud-like minerality. Paired with marinated octopus.

Was given this lees-aged Bierzo Godello to blind taste. First thought Chardonnay because of its full-bodied creaminess & touch of oak, but the minerality & herbality pulled me away. In the 70s Godello came close to extinction.

I like this. A fresher, and cheaper, style of Priorat, with a label reminiscent of the regions's llicorella soils.
