@starrski71 @JancisRobinson It is always good to be sceptical about en-primeur hype but there are 2 points I disagree with you over - 2022 saw above par conditions, rather than sub-par and criticism from pundits for the 2022s may need to be for the prices they are released at, not overall wine quality.

@JancisRobinson Palate preference are personal; ratings to encourage consumption is a commercial endeavour. All the “vintages of the Century” & novel descriptors employed to promote subpar conditions adds to growing dismissiveness of wine ratings. When was a wine critic last critical of Bdx EP?

@JancisRobinson Part of a massive effort to present 2022 as special to prevent a disastrous EP campaign. It will surely be an obscure & forgotten vintage. Remember 2003 was scored extremely high, regarded as one of the greatest years at EP. Everyone avoids it now as they should avoid buying 2022
