The timing is suspect. Ishaq Oloyede’s tenure doesn’t elapse until July 31, 2026. We’re in May 2026. Why announce a successor 14 months early? Are you prepping for a smooth handover, or pre-rigging 2026 UTME policy before Oloyede even packs his office? JAMB isn’t a chieftaincy title you announce during the predecessor’s lifetime.

Tinubu appoints 39-year-old professor as JAMB registrar Segun Aina, a professor of computer engineering at the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife, has been appointed new registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) by President Bola Tinubu. He would succeed Ishaq Oloyede, whose two-term elapses on July 31, 2026.

Today, I signed Executive Order No 1 of 2026 titled; Executive Order on the Regulation of Associations, Groups and Organisations Offering Security and Allied Services in Oyo State. This Executive Order is designed to ensure that all groups involved in security-related activities operate within a clear legal and operational framework that supports peace, order and the rule of law. In my remarks, I stated that the security agencies are working round the clock to ensure the safe return of the children and teachers kidnapped in Oriire LGA.
