Six launches are expected from Florida, California, and French Guiana this week, with SpaceX scheduled to launch its Falcon Heavy vehicle for the first time since October 2024. nasaspaceflight.com/2026/04/launch… Meanwhile, Falcon 9, Atlas V, and Ariane 6 are all expected to launch internet satellites for the Starlink and Amazon Leo constellations, and Falcon 9 will close out the week with a rideshare mission. Atlas V fueling is underway with cryogenic propellants for today's Amazon Leo 6 launch. Atlas and Centaur propulsion console operators here at ULA's Launch Control Center are performing the steps to command the pad systems to begin flowing 66,000 gallons of liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen in the rocket over the next 90 minutes. Weather forecast is 80% favorable to launch at 8:52 p.m. EDT (0052 UTC). bit.ly/av_leo6 // @AmazonLeo

#OTD 1972, Apollo 16 was on the Moon! Check out the detail in this photo of the Descartes Highlands, taken by John Young from his window. Shown remastered from the 50-year-old original film here, if Artemis IV captures anything close to this then I'll be very, very pleased.

The Axiom Station leverages Thales Alenia Space's expertise in building large pressurized space structures (they also built major parts of the current space station) but Axiom will handle the US based final integration and outfitting. Mockups like this one of HAB-1 are essential to help validate the interior setup and design while providing the flexibility to tweak and improve the layout for maximum efficiency.

Morning update...Pad lock-down has just been completed, with the blast doors and stairwell door shut, locked and checked. 2 tankers remain at the cryo offload stations, but I think all water tankers have departed. @LabPadre

Hearing reports that Massey's is closed for testing, so fingers crossed things go well for Ship 39 this afternoon! @LabPadre

Anyone else want to sneak in here to see how far along the crewed lunar lander is for the Artemis program? 😉

Very frustrating to see people, often politically motivated and grossly uniformed on spaceflight, use this beautiful moment in Artemis II to shit on SpaceX and commercial spaceflight as a whole.

If Artemis III sticks in Earth orbit, what should be done with the ICPS? Seems like it needs some kind of deep space purpose.
