A sure sign that spring is just around the corner, we've spotted our first snowdrops in flower in Birmingham! But are these the sign that spring is arriving early? Do let us know how your local snowdrops are getting on, or if you've spotted anything that seems out of season!

I went to Cannon Hill Park to see a project that’s bringing brown trout back to the River Rea. Restoring waterways is just one of 62 actions we’re taking, working with the @EnvAgency and organisations such as @WTBBC to protect our natural assets and create a greener, healthier West Midlands for the next generation. Read more details on the West Midlands Local Nature Recovery Strategy here: wmca.org.uk/what-we-do/env…

A greener future for the West Midlands starts here with the launch of the West Midlands new Local Nature Recovery Strategy 🌿 The Rea corridor is a great example in bringing wildlife back, improving flood resilience and strengthening access to nature for local people. Here’s what this means for our local communities: 👉 More accessible, better-quality green spaces for local families to enjoy 👉 Healthier rivers, canals and parks with more wildlife and cleaner water 👉Clear action to help communities adapt to climate change and feel its benefits locally 👉More opportunities for young people and adults to learn green skills and access new jobs

This #TrusteesWeek we'd like to say a big thank you to our Trustees! On a purely voluntary basis, they work to ensure we are managed effectively and deliver on our commitment to create a wilder Birmingham and the Black Country. We are immensely grateful for their contribution.

🚨Watch out for wildlife this Bonfire Night! 🦔If you're planning a bonfire this year, please remember to check for hedgehogs and other wildlife prior to lighting. Ensure that you build your bonfire on the day, or relocate it prior to use, and only light from one side.
