It also advances practical mission elements such as deploying 22 Starlink-like payloads, relighting a Raptor engine in space, and collecting imagery of the heat shield. For @SpaceX , Flight 12 is a de-risking step for three things at once: the new V3 vehicle, the new launch pad, and the operational procedures needed to raise launch cadence.
