I always like playing teams. Was able to team with @DifferentFight and @y0330p at DVGS for the first time! Thanks for the presents!
Actually had been testing Aichi for DVGS so here's the results:
DVGS Day 1:
1⃣ -🥇Seraph✅T❌
2⃣ -🥇Blangdmire✅T✅
3⃣ -🥈Deeplands✅T✅
4⃣ -🥈Yakuza❌T❌(Guarded VG for 2 and he broke it)
5⃣ -🥇Bye✅T✅
6⃣ -🥇Seraph✅T✅
7⃣ -🥇Chrono✅T❌(Forced double loss because of time LOL)
Overall, went 6-1 but got eliminated day 1.
Going first is OP in this format, to an unhealthy level. Have a lot more to say on how bad this current JP format is in a different post, as after talking with several other players they also agree. On the other hand, playtested Aichi a decent amount and tried different builds, and found that this one was the one I liked the most.
Main points are that 4 Gallatin is way too much, so 2/2 split between that and Zero is perfect. A lot of decks like to just run Soul Savers and ditch the Alfreds, but if your opponent heals or gets luck with damage checks, you can run out of steam by not drawing Alfreds. Alfreds let you play a slightly longer game and the triple drive lets you sack heals. The last thing that tied it all together was the Ace unit; lets you build a front row for free while hitting big as well.
Because you're running Alfreds, you should stick in a Marron so you don't run out of G1s. It also means you can't run NKO which is good for fishing out Gancelots later, but your deck has enough early game highroll and you run an Ace unit to help with that. You also run 4 Gancelots anyway.
Our deciding match for our win and in for Day 2 was looking very favorable, but the judges were standing over our table when time is called and forced both teams to double loss. These rules make no sense and create negative enjoyment for all parties involved. Players would rather have a game decided properly with one side making it through, rather than everyone losing.
Will be around for Day 2 so if you bump into me, don't be afraid to say hi! I'll probably be dressed looking like Gian lol
