Phase 2 Recap: ⚡️ Taking all the habits, workload management, and routines into the competition phase allowed us to focus on making calculated adjustments. “Can this win games in the spring?” If the answer is no, we fire and adjust. This is a time to challenge where we are at ruthlessly. Through situational work and adversity, we tap into the competitiveness that defines us. Overall: Very process oriented. The process in the fall should be to accomplish the goals in the spring. No one ever won a game that counted in college in October. Did we practice winning baseball? Are we tried and true with our process individually? Identity: We will be a hardworking pitching staff that thrives with adversity and throws nasty stuff through the strike zone. Savages on the mound. Staff Process: We are built a focal point on four categories to get the result we want in the spring. The most impressive this fall was the In-Zone WHIFF rates and how they climbed drastically from the first half to the second half. In-Game Results: Against outside opponents, collectively we had a 25.7% In-Zone WHIFF rate with the fastball averaging 92.3 MPH. Both results provide winning baseball percentages. The second half of the fall increased by 4.2%, and we had 8 guys above the goal IZ WHIFF %mark. That is a win. Individual Process: Each route of attacking our staff process looks slightly different as every pitcher is different. What cue do we need to make a small adjustment? What focal point should I attack? Why save bullets when I know my teammate behind me worked hard to come in after me? We provide solutions to problems and seek solutions, not answers. Phase 3: With an incredible partnership with @premierpitching , I have been able to tap deeper into body movement and correctives everywhere I have coached. Having them as a resource is vital. Application is everything. Knowing when and how much to push the needle is key, and they provide the tools to apply it when and where we need. Our guys will crush this phase. It is about giving the body a rest from the baseball while increasing the focus in the weight room and on mobility. 1/2
