Have you heard about #YoYoStrings? It's our course for string players aged 6+ who have been learning their instrument for at least one term. Led by a specialist string teacher, the emphasis is on developing confidence and having lots of fun playing music together!

A music and performing arts school in Leeds is working with a federation of drama schools across the country to try and bridge the gap into dedicated education for the sector: yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/education/leed…

Yorchestra costs just £50 per day. We believe this offers great value for money, given the high quality of the course. To allow as many young musicians as possible to attend, we have bursary funding for eligible applicants: yorchestra.org/bursaries/

We're fortunate to have access to two excellent venues, York University and Heslington Church. The two locations are in close proximity to each other, making it as easy as possible for those with more than one child taking part.

Good luck to all of our young musicians getting their A-level results today. We hope you get the grades you need.

Music played by Maestro is typical of symphony orchestras and covers music from all periods and a variety of styles. Examples include: Prokofiev – ‘Montagues and Capulets’ from Romeo and Juliet Bernstein – Symphonic Dances from West Side Story Dvorak – Symphony no. 8, 1st movt

If you're grade 6-8 or above, then Maestro is the orchestra for you. Courses run for 3 days during the Christmas holidays and 4 days in the summer. Maestro courses are not run at Easter as many of the players will be preparing for GCSEs or A-levels. yorchestra.org/orchestras/
