On behalf of Council, Mayor Ruimy extends the City of Maple Ridge’s sincere gratitude to Superintendent Adam Gander for 25 years of dedicated service to Maple Ridge. His leadership, professionalism, and commitment to public safety have made a lasting impact on our community. From his early days as a new officer at the detachment to serving as Officer in Charge, he has demonstrated integrity and compassion. His collaborative approach has been instrumental in advancing many initiatives to strengthen the safety and well-being of our community. As Adam begins his well-earned retirement, we wish him and his family all the best. The process to appoint a new Officer in Charge is underway. In the interim, the detachment will be led by its experienced senior leadership team, ensuring continued service and community safety.  Thank you Adam for serving our community with dedication and pride! @RidgeRCMP

As of April 1, the former Ridge Meadows RCMP Detachment has officially transitioned to two autonomous detachments. Maple Ridge now has a dedicated RCMP presence focused solely on meeting the needs of our community @RidgeRCMP “Maple Ridge congratulates the City of Pitt Meadows as they move forward independently with their own RCMP detachment. With the transition now complete, Maple Ridge moves forward with a dedicated Maple Ridge RCMP presence focused on the needs of our community, and residents can be assured they will continue to receive the same high standard of professional policing services. We thank the officers and staff for their ongoing hard work, professionalism, and commitment to keeping Maple Ridge safe,” said Mayor Dan Ruimy. This transition from a shared policing model has been a multi-year initiative, developed in close collaboration with municipal partners, the Province of BC and the RCMP. Since approval of the de-integration in 2021, extensive planning, risk assessment and validation have ensured both detachments are fully operational and equipped to deliver effective policing services aligned with their respective Police Service Agreements. There are no changes to the Maple Ridge RCMP location or contact information. 📍 Maple Ridge RCMP Detachment: 11990 Haney Place 📞 Non-emergency: 604-463-6251 🚨 In an emergency, always call 9-1-1. On behalf of City Council and the residents of Maple Ridge, we are saddened to hear and extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and countless fans of Jim Robson on his passing❤️ We remember Jim as a beloved hometown hero whose impact on our community and on Canadian sport will never be forgotten. Jim grew up in Maple Ridge, attending Alexander Robinson School before moving on to Maple Ridge Junior and Senior High School. He was well known locally as an athlete, playing basketball for Maple Ridge High School and baseball for the Haney Junior team. Jim went on to become the trusted ‘Voice of the Vancouver Canucks’ for more than 25 years, calling over 2,000 NHL games and covering Stanley Cup finals, NHL all-star games, and international competitions, including the 1984 Olympic Games 🏒 His remarkable career earned him induction into the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame, the BC Hockey Hall of Fame, and the BC Sports Hall of Fame. Maple Ridge was proud to honour Jim in 2017 by naming a section of 105 Avenue, from Lougheed Highway to the traffic circle at Tamarack Lane, as Jim Robson Way. We will always take pride in the fact that one of Canada’s most iconic voices came from Maple Ridge 🍁 #MapleRidge #YourMapleRidge #JimRobson #VancouverCanucks #LocalHero
