260521 Dazed Korea IG Update
A name that refuses a single definition, expanding, repeating, and returning anew. We add Jennie to Jennie. Nothing ordinary. Precisely, sharply, purely.
Choi Ji Woong, Director of DAZED Korea wrote a heartwarming message about #JENNIE while working with her for the magazine cover.
“Jennie, after 7 years, at the New York shoot, I was busy observing her. It was fun. But easy games aren’t interesting.
I still try to figure Jennie out. Acting like I know her well when I probably don’t. It’s a tiring yet grateful part of my job. Jennie always has a corner of herself she keeps hidden. She feels familiar yet unfamiliar, public yet ultimately very private. She’s not someone loved because of perfect kindness or transparent warmth. She can seem cold, sensitive, and sometimes wear expressions that are easy to misunderstand. That’s Jennie. Someone lovable but not safe, beautiful but not obedient. She looks like someone born to be loved, yet she doesn’t allow even the way she is loved to be decided by others.”
new Interview with #JENNIE instyle mag. for Ray-Ban.
Q: On the note about Ray-Ban Meta glasses, what was the most recent and exciting way you used them at?
JENNIE: I’ve been working in the studio a lot recently, so I like to bring them there just to capture moments or even when I’m just out with friends!
Q: What Ray-Ban style are you wearing the most lately, and what song of yours feels like it matches that vibe?
JENNIE: I’ve been wearing the Daddy O a lot lately! I like to wear them on stage frequently, usually for "Like JENNIE." It gives me that confident, effortless energy.
Q: As the new face of Ray-Ban, what about partnering with the brand were you the most excited about?
JENNIE: I’ve always loved how Ray-Ban stays true to its classics but still feels forward. It didn’t feel like something I had to force, and I liked the idea that we could just come together naturally.
Q: Ray-Ban is a brand so rooted in cultural history. Do you remember your first pair, or a moment when wearing them felt iconic to you?
JENNIE: I think sunglasses have always had the power to completely change a look or attitude. With Ray-Ban, I instantly feel more confident and pulled together. Even on simple days, they add a certain energy to the way I move and express myself.
Q: You’re known for your distinct sense of style. How do sunglasses fit into the way you build a look?
JENNIE: They’re the last touch for me. They pull everything together, but they can also change the mood of a look depending on how I wear them.
Q: Are you a sunglasses-at-night kind of girl?
JENNIE: Haha, sometimes, depending on the look! It just feels natural for me to have them on, no matter the time.
Q: The campaign introduces both classic frames and the Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses. Are you more drawn to timeless silhouettes, or do you like pushing into something more futuristic?
JENNIE: I’m usually drawn to classic silhouettes. I think there’s something really strong about pieces that don’t change over time.
