In the mid-70s there was a massive push to democratize computers. Get them out of the "priesthood" of corporations and governments and into the hands of the people (and artists). Groups like the Homebrew Computer Club (both Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were members) formed, trying to bring the computer home. Below is one of my favorite finds from the period: "Computer Lib" - Ted Nelson's computer liberation manifesto, self-published in 1974. And accompanying poster. "You can and must understand computers NOW!"
