You blamed your parents for being broke. You blamed them for not buying land, not investing, not taking risks, not seeing what was coming. Now you are the parent. Your kids are going to ask what you did when houses became unaffordable, money lost value, and Bitcoin was sitting there in plain sight. “They did not teach me” is no longer an excuse. You either break the cycle or become the reason it continues.

The bitcoin sitting in plain sight thing is exactly why i tell my colleagues that traditional equities are the illusion of safety. if you divide the s&p 500 by bitcoin over the last decade the line doesn't just go down it falls off a cliff. you think you are winning in the market but your purchasing power in terms of sound money is evaporating. i spent 20 years in surgery before i realized that most of my gains were just currency debasement and that the real wealth was moving into digital property and class b multifamily. kids aren't going to care that you maxed out a 401k they are going to ask why you held a depreciating currency while the hardest money in history was right there

@AAStack Exactly. My parents didn't invest in anything. They made really good money in the late 70's and 80's and spent everything as soon as they got it. Poverty mindset. When I found Bitcoin, I told my wife "this is our Eli Lilly". And we haven't looked back.
