It’s Saturday…I’ve had a steak supper..and my thoughts turn to volatility..mainly because my paper net worth ~ halved this week & it feels appropriate to dwell on that. I run an insanely concentrated portfolio…basically 80%* #GDWN on Monday this RNS landed investegate.co.uk/announcement/r… Confirming they’d doubled profits YoY …but with a smorgasbord of additional negatives that implied bad stuff potentially occurring I believe that was intended as a nudge that perhaps the valuation was a touch giddy…& I always appreciate a mgt team that wants to soft pedal stuff ..the market reacted inappropriately imho I remain embarrassingly over weight in what I believe to be one of the best growth stories listed on the LSE *prevously 90% PPS I’m back at September 2025 Portfolio Value

Down 1.3% for the week and now 3.9% down for the year. GBP weakness helping a bit. Most stocks down but the biggest losers were #AOM and #WATR. A few divis coming in #BPM #PAY but pretty bleak atm

Down 2.8% for the week and 2.6% for the year. Not great but not the worst. #BKS the worst faller with lackluster results but most things down tbh. Dividends start coming in end of next week so will make me feel better

Painful week as most and down 3.5% and now up only 0.8% on the year. Almost everything down along with the greater markets. Relaxing weekend and next week we go again

Also sold #UTG this week into- think the turnaround could take a while and think there’s better opportunities elsewhere

Sold #PSN after a decent run up and used the funds to buy into #EXPN and #REL as not convinced they will be hit by AI at all

Up 0.3% and now 4.3% for the year. #AET and #ING have done well. Dividends from #BPM and #CVCG have helped along some weakness in GBP

Fear & Greed Index is at a 5. Which is crazy low. If you had bought Bitcoin the last time we were at single digits, you could have bought 1 BTC for $22,000. And even with this big drop, you'd still be 3X on your investment. Some see this as a sell signal. I think that's dumb.

#ARC - Interims ➡️Rev down 4.7%, PBT down 23.8%, cash up 8.4% to £7.8m. ➡️Cash is a huge proportion of market cap. ➡️"we are confident that we will build back lost business and return to growth next year". I think it will remain sub-scale unless they usefully deploy cash.

6 weeks ago Tom Lee was forecasting $180,000 Bitcoin by the end of January. It’s Jan 31st and we just hit $78,000. 👀
