Sunday, 15th March 2026 The Fourth Sunday in Lent - Mothering Sunday 9.00 Holy Communion 10.30 Mattins attended by the Royal Dragoon Guards (Captain Oates service) 18.30 Evensong Flowers will be distributed after Evensong. All welcome!

In September, the Duke of Edinburgh presented the Royal Dragoon Guards with a new Regimental Standard. This afternoon, the Regiment attended their church @ASPavement and deposited their previous Standard (presented in 1998 by the then-Prince of Wales) to be laid up in due course.

No evening service at my placement church this week, so back to @ASPavement for Evensong. Choir and congregation sang the “alternative” canticles Cantate Domino and Deus Misereatur, which will be our practice from now on in Lent and Advent.

Lent has begun with a service of Morning Prayer, Litany, and Commination @ASPavement. A most bracing and moving start to the season.

Sunday, 21st December 2025 The Fourth Sunday in Advent 9.00 Holy Communion 10.30 Mattins 15.00 Nine Lessons & Carols 18.30 Evening Prayer All most welcome! Further on, Christmas Day services will be at 9.00 (Morning Prayer followed by Holy Communion) and 10.30 (Sung Eucharist).

Three consecutive nights of Nine Lessons & Carols @ASPavement for external organisations completed, and a very happy pint (or two) of Taylor's Landlord at the end of it.

A full hour of outdoor carolling @ASPavement this morning - as I will be down south on Christmas Day and thus not singing or playing “Christians awake”, I insisted that we sang it today.
