This is absolutely insane - This American borrowed $96,000 in student loans for a bachelors degree - She’s already paid back $165,356 - She still owes $220,810.73 Again, she only borrowed $96,000 “I have paid almost double what I even borrowed in the first place, and I owe so much money. I am running backwards at this point” How is this legal? This is such a scam. This is why students can’t pay off their loans, the terms are beyond predatory

@CarpeSapientiam @WallStreetApes What happens is she’s paying the minimum monthly payment which barely touches the principal. You have to pay attention to how the loan is set up. Additionally, it’s high risk for these loans because there isn’t anything for bank to repossess and cut their losses.

@WallStreetApes I'm calling bs on this. It would take over 11 years for 96k to turn into 220k even if it was ALL at the higher of the interest rates listed (7.54) and if you paid NOTHING at all. Something is being left out, the math isn't mathing.
