Duty Deferment Scheme for Eligible Manufacturer Importers

On 26.04.2026, Customs, Ahmedabad intercepted one passenger arriving from Japan via Ho Chi Minh City. 61 designer and high-value ink pens were found concealed in his baggage to evade Customs Duty.The goods were seized under the Customs Act,1962. Further investigation is underway.

On 16.04.2026, officers of CD Valsad, Ahmedabad Customs, during sea patrolling, intercepted a suspicious boat near Kolak coast, Valsad. 555 boxes (18,672 bottles) of IMFL, valued ₹50 lakh, were seized. Boat & 8 persons handed over to Gujarat Police. Investigation underway.

Customs Ahmedabad Busts Gold Smuggling Attempt. A female passenger arriving from Kuala Lumpur was intercepted at SVPIA, Ahmedabad. Gold paste concealed on her body was recovered and refined into 553.07 gm of 24 KT gold, valued at ₹83.29 lakh. The passenger has been arrested.

Customs Ahmedabad intercepted one passenger at SVPI Airport arriving from Kuala Lumpur by Air Asia Flight AK-91 on 09.02.2026. 6.8 kg (gross) Heroin concealed in soap bars and envelopes seized. Passenger has been arrested under NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation is underway.

Ahmedabad Customs seized 601.94 grams of 24-kt gold valued at ₹96.07 lakh from a passenger arriving from Dubai on SpiceJet flight SG-016. The gold was concealed in a pocket purse and in paste form inside the undergarment. Further Investigation is underway.

Surat Customs seized 6.93 kg Hydroponic Marijuana concealed in aircraft seats on Flight IX-263 (Bangkok–Surat). Four accused arrested under NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation underway.

AIU officers of Customs, Ahmedabad seized 948 gms of Hydroponics Marijuana (Ganja) concealed in food/chocolate packets from a female passenger arriving from Bangkok by Vietjet Air Flight VZ-570 on 02.02.2026. The passenger has been arrested. Further investigation is underway.

Acting on suspicious baggage scans, AIU, Customs Ahmedabad seized 07 gold chains and 07 gold bangles (24 kt) weighing 945.57 grams on 01.02.2026, valued at ₹1.52 crore, from four passengers arriving from Jeddah by Akasa Air flight QP-564. Further investigation is underway.

On specific intelligence, AIU, Customs SVPI Airport Ahmedabad, intercepted a pax departing to Bangkok by VZ-571 on 14.01.2026 and seized undeclared USD & GBP worth ₹42.06 lakh under Customs Act & FEMA. Investigation underway.

Based on intelligence, AIU Ahmedabad Customs intercepted two male passengers departing to Bangkok by Thai Lion Air SL-213. Undeclared foreign currency US dollar, GBP & AUD valued at ₹ 44 lakh seized for violations of Customs Act, 1962 & FEMA.
