Boy, this movie still plays. Superb concept beautifully executed. Two classic movie star performances from Demi Moore and the much-missed Patrick Swayze. Tony Goldwyn is a superb villain. But the real star is Whoopi, who won a no-brainer Oscar by way of an appealing, hilarious and touching performance.
Hollywood used to be great.
First of all simply because “the brightest light gets the arrows”.
And then of course there’s the matter of demagogy used to steer crowds in an oversimplified worldview of rich = bad, where inevitably the richest man in the world becomes a fundamental pawn, all the more when associated to specific leaders and policies.
Musk getting as much heat and hate is basically inevitable in the current climate 🤷🏻♂️
Sad thing because, instead, more serious criticism and discussions could be made around AI for instance.
