Alpine Club Library

You can contact all of these organisations for details about their holdings if you've an interest in mountaineering history. The Alpine Club library is open to the public three days a week - and @mtn_heritage can be visited by appointment.

Lastly - Us! The Alpine Club collections cover much of the history of early alpine mountaineering. We hold a wide variety of material including mountain paintings, correspondence and diaries from prominent mountaineers and physical artefacts such as ice axes.

Had a fascinating tour of @mtn_heritage as part of @thealpineclub Blencathra weekend. A wonderful collection that's well worth a visit if you're researching mountaineering history.
