In the Unai Simon Vs David Raya debate, some fans are saying David Raya was being protected by the Arsenal backline and didn't make a lot of saves and it's the reason why he doesn't start for Spain. When I remember the time we started praising Gabriel Magalhaes and saying he deserves the PFA award, rival fans said he doesn't deserve it because if it wasn't for David Raya Arsenal wouldn't have won the league. After Unai Simon conceded that cheap goal I said David Raya would have saved it and now the narrative has changed to David Raya wasn't the best goalkeeper last season because he had the better backline. I am confused right now because if you say Gabriel Magalhaes deserved the PFA they will say he wasn't the best and David Raya was for Arsenal and if I say David Raya is a better goalkeeper than Unai Simon they say he isn't because he has the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes standing Infront of him.

I believe if Arsenal had Mikel Merino on the pitch in the champions league final against PSG, Arsenal could have won the game within 90 minutes Mikel Merino could have scored a late goal against the PSG. He is not very skillful, but his intelligence and positioning are his biggest asset Mikel Merino is a player for the big occasion. He shows up in big matches. He has done it time and time for Arsena , he has taken that aura to the world cup At a time when he was going tigh for Spain in the round of 16 against Portugal. He showed up and scored the winner In the quarter finals against Belgium when all hope seems to have been lost against Belgium, he showed up and scored the winning goal That is Mikel Merino the savior. Arsenal is lucky to have him

Thomas Tuchel used to play Mikel Merino as a left-sided center-back. Mikel Arteta has played him as a midfielder and striker for Arsenal. Luis De La Fuente is deploying him as a midfielder for Spain. The only position we haven't seen him play is the goalkeeper. Still 30 years of age, you never know we may get a chance to see him as a goalkeeper 👀

Just imagine, this guy is coming on as a substitute, and he has already scored two goals. And remember, there are still games left to play. Mikel Merino has done that, yet Viktor Gyökeres has started every game, played 90 minutes, and scored just one goal in this World Cup. What does that tell you? For sure, I'm no longer asking why Mikel Arteta uses Mikel Merino as a striker instead of a midfielder because this guy is a goal machine. For sure, I'm starting to ask myself questions. If Viktor Gyökeres is playing as a striker and still can't score goals, this World Cup is exposing him. He has played every game, completed 90 minutes, and still failed to score at least two goals. Meanwhile, a player who comes on as a substitute and plays only 15 or 20 minutes keeps performing. It just leaves us with one question: why did we sign Viktor Gyökeres?

@Wizarab10 Being alone doesn't mean someone is lonely. You can stay connected with your parents via phone calls, even without regular visits. You can also arrange a nanny for them if need be. All these help keep them from feeling lonely.

Mikel Arteta converted midfielder Mikel Merino into a lethal striker by shifting him closer to the penalty box and leveraging his elite aerial ability. Arteta designed specific tactical movements that allowed Merino to bypass defenders and make late, unpredictable runs into the box. Arteta transformed Merino through a few key strategic changes: The Box Run: Arteta taught Merino to make runs from deep midfield into the penalty area. He acts as a "target man" who uses his height to win headers against smaller defenders. The "Glue" of the Press: Arteta shifted Merino into a false-nine role. In this position, Merino drops deep to collect the ball and presses opponents heavily, allowing Arsenal's wingers to push forward. Merino spent his early time at Arsenal injured, where he deeply studied Arteta's tactical system and learned how different positions interacted on the pitch. That tactical knowledge helped him seamlessly fit into the striker position when Arsenal suffered injuries to other forwards like Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus in 2024/25 season. This emergency fix turned into a masterstroke, resulting in massive goal-scoring numbers for both Arsenal and the Spain national team. Mikel Merino is now Mr clutch 🙌

Instead of people giving Mikel Arteta his credit for turning a midfielder into a striker , they are busy complaining on his youth coach who didn't have the eye .
