Open Space Technology (OST) is a powerful process for meetings & events where the topics are important, complex & urgent. OST works with anything from 5 people to 2,000+ people who create the agenda themselves. It is designed to be highly participatory, inclusive & collaborative & often results in breakthroughs in thinking & action. I use OST in my meeting facilitation practice more than any other method. @chriscorrigan has just updated his website on planning & facilitating OST meetings. There are some brilliant resources on it. It has something for everyone, from people who want to use OST for the first time to highly experienced facilitators of large group events: chriscorrigan.com/parkinglot/a-r…. Thank you Chris. UFCs require specialized judges with background in and knowledge of family law. This should include experience implementing children's rights, particularly their right to meaningful participation and voice. UFCs would be a significant step forward.
Canadian Lawyer Magazine@CanLawMag

Unified family court system needed across Canada to deal with ‘crisis’ in system: Advocates Society. UFC would combine jurisdictions and help ease delays in settling family law disputes, says report. hubs.la/Q02F1N_r0

The BC Court of Appeal has re-affirmed that courts must take into account the impact of indirect violence on a child's best interests when deciding parenting arrangements, not just direct violence against the child. Huge victory for Rise and Rise Lawyer, Vandana Sood
BC Court of Appeal@BCCourtofAppeal

The Court allowed an appeal from a final parenting order that provided the father with equal and unsupervised parenting time, finding the trial judge failed to conduct a proper analysis of the mother's allegations of family violence. bccourts.ca/jdb-txt/ca/24/…

Through the beautiful doodles & words of children with cancer, we’ve captured their voice, needs & feelings -as well as their loved ones views “What matters to me?” Every service should centre it’s purpose around this question & find the answers A joy to draw this for @NWCCODN

Great work in Scotland:"This guidance on how public authorities, & other organisations, can take a children’s human rights approach aims to support this shift to ensure they consider the UNCRC in the delivery of their services and take actions now to make children’s rights real."

New book predicts : "Children will become more actively involved in the dispute resolution process ...The voice of the child will be heard more effectively in the formulation of parenting plans, and parenting plans involving extended family members will become common."

Prof. John Lande connects the dots between Kintsugi (the art of mending broken pottery), our own lives and conflict resolution. A very helpful metaphor. Also grateful for Jennifer Brown's cmention of Peter Mayer's song "Japanese Bowls". #comment-122730" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">indisputably.org/2023/12/decemb…

I am delighted that my invited article on "Radical Collaboration to Transform Social Systems: Moving Forward Together with Love, Power, and Justice" is now online at jabsc.org/index.php/jabs…. What feedback do you have on this body of practice and theory?
