After the incident I asked protest safety marshals to call the police but instead they smirked and even helped the man flee the scene. One man broke out in laughter so I asked him why he thought the incident was funny. He basically said voilence against Republicans is acceptable. This incident happened hours before the White House Correspondents Dinner incident which sparked nationwide conversations about political violence. What needs to happen to stop incidences of political violence from continuing to increase?
