If there's going to be no return to Test cricket for West Indies women, would at least be nice to fill in the picture of their past. There's no complete scorecard available for 6th India v WI Test in 1976, which means the full stats for women's Test cricket remain out of reach.

"It's great to see the way cricket is growing, and is now helping so many people." 💜 Last month, Sarah Bryce visited our girls-only @WicketzEdin hub, where young people are provided with a safe space to play cricket and learn life skills. ➡️ youtu.be/E66BuP3T5CA

Field Marshall Earl Haig became a member of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club in 1894. In 1920 a vast crowd gathered at St Andrews to watch Haig drive into office as Captain of the Club. Haig was Commander of the 1st Army in France until 1915, when he became Commander in Chief of the Expeditionary Forces in France and Flanders until after the First World War ended. In 1921 Haig was instrumental in forming the Royal British Legion and Earl Haig Fund, which continue to support veterans and their families to this day. Haig presented a map, showing the Allied and German positions on the Western Front on 25 September 1918, to the Club. A portrait of Haig, painted by Sir James Guthrie, hangs in the Big Room of The Royal and Ancient Clubhouse. The cannon, fired every September as the incoming Captain of the Club drives into office, was salvaged from a ship called the Sutlej, which floundered in St Andrews bay on 1 April 1858. It was acquired by the Club through the offices of Sir Hugh Lyon Playfair, Captain of the Club in 1856. The cannon is fired every year on Armistice Day, marking the beginning and end of the two-minute silence at 11am. 🔗 To learn more about Field Marshall Earl Haig, visit Bunker Shots: Stories of Golf and Conflict, now open at The R&A World Golf Museum: worldgolfmuseum.com 📱Download @bbgconnects to enhance your visit

Pleased to contribute to discussion -pointing out importance of recognising women’s sport heritage. Recent research ‘Catching History’ highlighted pioneers &collected oral histories where “official” records are missing. @CricketScotland @RafNicholson @BayfirthResCIC @ReidDr1
