“Sindicatos de derecha”, “ultraderecha”, “clasistas”, “faltos de vocación”, “nuevos controladores aéreos”, “privilegiados”, “egoístas”, “corporativistas”… Los ataques de la Ministra de Sanidad, de cargos de Más Madrid y de sus terminales mediáticas están teniendo un efecto movilizador entre los médicos. A pesar de unos abusivos servicios mínimos que cercenan el derecho de huelga y del perjuicio económico que genera acumular días de huelga, cada día la respuesta es mayor. Esto en Madrid ya lo vivimos en la huelga médica de 2012 cuando con cada declaración del Consejero de Sanidad Fernández-Lasquetty y cada ataque desde Telemadrid aumentaba la movilización. (Spoiler: Fernandez-Lasquety terminó dimitiendo tras 22 días de huelga en Madrid; hoy es el 7º día de huelga en España)

A recent study using real-world data from the BEL-Spain multicenter registry provides interesting comparative evidence on the addition of #immunosuppressants (IS) to #belimumab monotherapy in relation to clinical outcomes in systemic #lupus erythematous (SLE): ◦ Cohort: 258 SLE patients treated with belimumab; 177 (68.6%) received belimumab + concomitant IS, 81 (31.4%) belimumab monotherapy; ≥12 months follow-up. ◦ Primary outcome (DORIS remission at 12 months): - Unadjusted: 48.1% (IS group) vs 51.4% (monotherapy) — no significant difference (p=NS). - Propensity score–adjusted: OR = 0.89 (95% CI 0.37–2.14) — no significant difference. ◦ Secondary outcomes: - Comparable Lupus Low Disease Activity State (LLDAS) rates and flare rates between groups. - Similar progressive #glucocorticoid reduction in both arms; stable global treatment trajectories. These results indicate that belimumab monotherapy provides similar clinical effectiveness (#remission, low disease activity, flare control, glucocorticoid tapering) to belimumab + IS combination therapy.
