@WaddiPark Not with the machine now, this is all I have, does that give you an idea of the blades?

@BenJFindlay Can you take a few close ups of roller? Cheers The common stubble crunchers don’t seem to be handling WA conditions to well at the moment.

Playing with a Rolmako Pro Cut stubble muncher in Canola today. Looks like the seeder should get through now. Not much stubble longer than 8 inches. 3.7T canola crop.

First lap today ilof the winter canola. RGT Nizza, split cross auger handling it well. Plants standing up well but still difficult to fit it out of the hole. Crop still a bit green, will come back to it next week.

@CallumKinnear Your welcome to come have a look anytime. I think that style of bracket your talking about would be much better. Definitely needs more work but the concept is proven.

@BenJFindlay Hi Ben, would be keen to see it in action when you have it up and running. What If you made the bracket holding auger in the middle a sort of “U” shape coming down from above? might stop the pinch point from crop behind the auger jamming against bracket

New Project: Finally after many years thinking about it I am building a split cross auger for the windrower. Have seen a few across social media but not one in action. Does anyone have any feedback on these?

Cross auger complete, few teething issues at the start, required better drive couplings. Mounting still needs some more work. The flow is much better out of the header. Will have it in some big winter crops in about 10 days time to see how it performs.

@JhCarmody This is a tractor drawn GTS grader from @Oz_Value_AG. They work awesome. This is a smaller model but it has surprised me. They have some big units that look tough. One less machine with engine and trans to worry about is how i look at it.

#AgTwitter I’m looking at getting a grader for the farm to maintain roads and keep boundaries clear. Any advice on what to look for and what should be avoided? TIA

@Nel_farms Nah the issue was trying to equalise pressure in the bins to pressure in the metering boxes. What spacings/how many tynes and what size are secondary hoses?

1910 gurus or air seeder legends in general. Could I run all product (seed and fert) for a 12m bar out just three of the 8 primary lines? Would I have issues with that much material in just three lines? Rootboot splitters blocking, want to run everything out back. TIA

@ryan_milgate We are using the blanking plates that cut of 2/3 of the roller. But still not low enough. I made some different rollers this morning that work a treat.

@BenJFindlay We used to put blanking rings over the seed rollers for canola in our old Gason bin, was basically split pvc pipe. A small seeds box is a much better long term solution

Germinator MK4 UPDATE 4: We are away. Finally the set up is complete and in the paddock. A few teething issues with the hydraulic tyne controller but smoothed out now. Also required some custom made seed rollers for the gason to get our sowing rate lower enough on canola.

@ajprotheroe1 Similar I guess. A little more stubble breakdown and less soil disturbance

@BenJFindlay How is this different to a Kelly chain? Same result or is there something I’m missing?

Testing out this contraption today. Goal is to chop the stubble short enough to decompose quicker, and provide better trash flow. Also a little better chem to soil contact on pre-ems. Working in a 4.5t canola stubble. What is everyone's thoughts? Photos of results in comments.

@jackatgroundhog We are trying to balance those two things. Seed placement is imprtant but maintenance and longevity have proved a problem for some "parallelograms". The targets are seed placement, maintenance, trash flow, transport width, affordability.

@BenJFindlay Ok thanks Ben. Not trying to be smart arse but.. what is the advantage or edge your design offers over others given seed placement is the ultimate end goal? Is it the cost to buy or maintain?

Germinator MK4 UPDATE 3: All tyne assemblies are on, most hydraulics plumbed up. Air kit to be fitted next, then electronics for tyne controller and drawbars to be added. Hydraulic fold circuit to be worked on tommorow.

@jackatgroundhog Thanks mate. No seed placement will be controlled at a ratio to press wheel movement. Similar to seedhawk, borgault qda, Horsch sprinter, etc.

@BenJFindlay Looks great Ben. Looks well built. Looks like trash flow will be great. But I dont undertand the seed placement? Wont it be the same as a standard C shank design with hydraulic tine?
