Gaza is still suffering from a severe crisis of drinking and running water!

While global attention focuses on the starvation in #Gaza, it must also be said that severe thirst is gripping the city. Families are receiving only minimal amounts of water, most of it unsafe for drinking. Gaza Municipality is powerless to ease this suffering due to extremely limited resources, the massive destruction of infrastructure, and Israel’s ongoing ban on bringing in essential maintenance materials and equipment. Gaza needs urgent help, not only to end the hunger but also to end the thirst that is killing its people.

Fresh water in Gaza…it’s a life-sustaining essential, it’s a life-saving basic necessity, it is hard to find and obstacles even stand in our way to deliver it. chuffed.org/project/help-u…. Desalinization plans are bombed, there are mass displacements that close off certain areas, but something as simple as the lack of fuel can also stand between us and delivering clean drinking water. Translating Falasteen (@translatingpal) x The Sameer Project provided 75,000 liters of water on July 20. Less than the 100,000 liter range daily we usually aim for during this crisis time. Some of the trucks we rent to fill up to take to our normal rotation of locations could not be used because of a fuel shortage. The Gaza Strip relies on fuel to be allowed in so that generators and motors and vehicles can operate. On this day, there simply was not enough. Our teams did reached… Gaza City: • al-Dahshan area in Al Sabra – 6,000 liters • Bilal Bin Rabah in al-Zaytoun neighborhood – 6,000 liters • al-Shati’ area in al-Rimal neighborhood – 3,000 liters • al-Saraya area in al-Rimal neighborhood – 8,000 liters (Truck 1: 3,000, Truck 2: 5,000) • al-Yarmouk area in al-Daraj neighborhood – 3,000 liters • al-Shuhada Street area in al-Rimal neighborhood – 5,000 liters • Al Zarqa – 6,000 liters • al-Nasr neighborhood – 6,000 liters • Sheikh Radwan – 6,000 liters • Tal Al Hawa – 6,000 liters • al-Emadi area – 5,000 liters • Gaza Port – 5,000 liters • Radio and Television area – 5,000 liters • Al-Shati’ Refugee Camp – 5,000 liters Please continue to contribute to the North Campaign so that we can provide life-saving water despite the obstacles.
