@golgariguy I would say anything requiring the player to use more resources to do what they normally would, or could lock them from taking any actions, is Stax or Stax-adjacent. Manabarbs is fun until damage is tripled and nobody can play a spell ever again.

@BudgetCommander The often used spells-matter AT is not great when you should be playing 2/3 of your spells as creatures.
Blue in general has often been weaker in limited with exceptions, and red often only does the 1 thing it does well: aggro. Red "rooms" doesn't seem like a thing in DM limited.

@sporef4g @GayOliveGarden At this point I'm more than fine ignoring any of their sweeping changes going forward outside of major conventions. Rule 0 means not needing a rules committee on a casual format.

As a result of the threats last week against RC members, it has become impossible for us to continue operating as an independent entity. Given that, we have asked WotC to assume responsibility for Commander and they will be making decisions and announcements going forward.

Can we just not have a rules committee for EDH? Leave it in the hands of players and individual play groups, acknowledge the pre-2024 banlist, and maybe stop designing bad cards going forward? #mtg #edh

@FrankLepore Yep. Just about every version of these cards I opened in sealed product or draft and I have sold cards like these to help maintain my ability to participate in the hobby. Affected more than just MTG finance people.

I'm fine with this. Dockside needed to go. Rule 0 convo's I've had rarely discussed fast mana as opposed to oppressive play styles. Crypt/Lotus weren't common bc they were price prohibitive so I don't think their bans will be as impactful.

the industry used to reward good work. now once a studio is acquired and puts out an expensive, successful game, everyone gets laid off because the game is done and they don't need the people working on it anymore.
they don't develop a sequel or new game, they just fire everyone
