It’s my 6th MBE birthday today, like all monarchs I have two! 😆👑 still pinch myself every day! Casual selfie in Buckingham Palace toilets with Saskia…you can take the girl out of Watford…🙈🤣

13 years ago, it was snowing heavily in Watford. I was on the 2nd part of my teaching practice & had decided to do it in at my old primary school: I didn’t want my training to just be in Cornwall. Mum held my hand to keep us steady & it’s still one of my favourite memories! 🥰

Our young readers deserve better. And as leaders and teachers, we are the ones who are responsible for ensuring they get it.

His books have become problematic for me. Children’s books are never neutral; they shape how children see themselves, others & the world.There are countless inclusive, high-quality books available-as educators we should choose those-even when it’s uncomfortable or unpopular.

Finally! Too often, we see what happens when men in positions of power begin to believe that success or status places them beyond scrutiny. It doesn’t. It never should. Well done to the brave women who have finally spoken out.

Still can’t believe I get to lead this amazing academy! 🤩 My 🩷watching our Head pupils switching on the lights-they were so excited!

We had a performance of the panto, Snow White, at the academy today…’Oh yes we did…’😃Had several staff emails saying how brilliant it was & the children loved it too! Obviously Nelly wanted a starring role; she wasn’t too keen on the Jester though…😬🙈🎭

So proud of our amazing pupils! 🤩

British Bulldogs are lazy? Well…yes but not when they’ve decided their walk is over, ten minutes in! Winnie reaches top speed when she wants to get back to the car! 🙄🤣🥰

The most precious reminder this week: family & wellbeing are everything. My darling eldest son, Kelly, proposed at the Taj Mahal to the lovely Sian-a place that beautifully nods to our heritage & the timeless symbol of love it represents. My heart is so full 💍✨

Just finished ‘That’ll Teach Her’ by the superb @mazevansauthor & I’m still laughing! . The parent WhatsApp chat? Too real. The plot? So clever! As a Head, (I hope the only thing I have in common with Ms. Stitchwell) I still read her fate with one eye open!😆Utterly fantastic! 🤩
