Mass incarceration and the drug war are immigrant rights issues. The #right2return and a way to #bringushome is a call to repair the damages done to Latinx and Black imm. communities who not only faced violence and prison, but then deportation.

We need to think about how to extend advocacy for the undocumented beyond the border. Though deported, they still need to get back to their families. How do we work together to achieve true #familyunity? #postdeportationadvocacy #right2return

@ACLU @hrw @wola Grassroots organizations like @CIYJA @NYSYLC legal advocacy groups like @the_ILRC @NILC and others have lots to offer the activist base in Mexico who needs resources and support, but most importantly a seat at the table. #Right2return #bringushome

The deported in Mexico range in age, language ability and experience. But, everyone has the same dream, access to blood and chosen family, freedom from persecution and the right to thrive for themselves and those they care about. #right2return #bringushome

Here is a video from @CaminamosJsma an org by and for the family of the deported. Mixed status families have often refused to be torn apart by deportation and communities throughout Mexico exist of those who have followed their undocumented family members back home.

Creating a process to return would not just improve the lives of deported migrants, but also throw a lifeline to a lost generation of children around the world. This is also family unification and should be a priority for new reform measures. #bringushome #right2return

Deported/Returned migrants call themselves Los Olvidados, we feel US dialogue talks about deportees, but never to us. Let's learn from each other! We ask organizations like @ACLU, @hrw @WOLA, @UWD to consider us at their tables, we invite them to ours. #right2return #bringushome
